Lund Science Center
Science Village Scandinavia has been tasked with developing an upscaled Science Center in Lund. The center will allow the local population, regional visitors as well as tourists to explore innovations and scientific phenomena. The center is expected to open in 2024.
The Science Center will act as an interactive window for the public to ESS and MAX IV, granting insight and explanations to the technologies used and the research conducted at the research facilities. The center will also host other exhibitions. The goal is to exhibit science and innovations spawned out of Lund and Skåne. The Science Center’s facilities will measure 5000 – 6000 m2.
Within the center you will be able to explore 4-5 larger exhibitions on themes such as city development and urbanisation, life science, climate change and digital technology. The center will also house an experimental section where visitors will be able to explore physics related phenomena such as electromagnetism, gravitation and optics. In addition the center will host evening lectures for an older audience, as well as science shows for audiences of all ages. The goal of the center is to present research from Lunds University, and the countless innovations originating from Skåne.
“A Science Center of this size will be able to offer something to everybody, from experimental stations for 8th graders to larger exhibitons for adult visitors.” says Peter Andersson, head of development for the Science Center at Science Village.
