Project planning of square and streets begins
During the spring, Norconsult is beginning the project planning work within the zoning-planned parts of Science Village as well as Odarslövsvägen from MAX IV to ESS. In practice this means that Norconsult is beginning to draw and plan the design of the area’s parks, streets, cycle paths and walkways, as well as street lighting and outdoor furniture – including the area’s “thought bubbles”.
“Most of what we are delivering in the project is not very different just because we are working with a research environment, but a few things do stand out. For example, we will be designing “thought bubbles”, a number of locations that will function as small oases for inspiration, training or relaxation”, says Thomas Hedberg, project manager at Norconsult.
The project planning work includes Mesongatan and Rydbergs Torg and is the first step on the path to achieving a complete square and park environment around the tram stop (which will be called ESS) and the area’s walkways, and will provide a clearer image of the future character of the area.
