The Zoning plan work
The first zoning plan for Science Village, covering the central area around Rydbergs Torg and the tram stop, covers six construction rights for six buildings, two of which have been sold to Skanska and Wihlborgs respectively.
The zoning plan is awaiting a decision by the Government before entering into force. This decision is expected as soon as the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority has submitted its recommendations on the scope of the emergency preparedness zone around ESS. These recommendations have been promised during May.
A further zoning plan is also on its way. This covers the possibility for two nano-laboratories with associated offices, as well as a further 10,000 m2 of office buildings and a parking garage. Lund University is planning to relocate its Nano Lab to Science Village. ProNano, a pilot production facility for commercial nano-products, is also in the planning stage.
This zoning plan is currently out for consultation until the end of May and is expected to be ready during the autumn of this year.
