The Zoning plan work

Publicerad: 16 April, 2018 av Peter Andersson |

The first zoning plan for Science Village, covering the central area around Rydbergs Torg and the tram stop, covers six construction rights for six buildings, two of which have been sold to Skanska and Wihlborgs respectively.

The zoning plan is awaiting a decision by the Government before entering into force. This decision is expected as soon as the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority has submitted its recommendations on the scope of the emergency preparedness zone around ESS. These recommendations have been promised during May.

A further zoning plan is also on its way. This covers the possibility for two nano-laboratories with associated offices, as well as a further 10,000 m2 of office buildings and a parking garage. Lund University is planning to relocate its Nano Lab to Science Village. ProNano, a pilot production facility for commercial nano-products, is also in the planning stage.

This zoning plan is currently out for consultation until the end of May and is expected to be ready during the autumn of this year.

The Science Center project engages architects

Publicerad: 16 April, 2018 av Peter Andersson |

The Science Center project has begun work on programme documentation and documentation for an architectural competition. Together with architects, the Science Center building’s fundamental character and location will be concretized. This work includes the description of the various functions within the building and the future organisation, as well as how these should be located spatially in relation to one another. One important element in this analysis is the assessment of how various target groups are expected to move around the building.

It is planned to hold the architectural competition during autumn 2018, subsequent to a prequalification round. The winning proposal will form the basis for the municipality’s zoning planning activities during 2019.

The Science Center project and Science Village will have a small exhibition in Stadshallen Lab during certain periods in May and June. There is considerable interest in our plans and this is a way for us to meet a broader public.
