Science Village continues to develop

Publicerad: 16 February, 2018 av Peter Andersson |

Press Release   13.02.2018

Science Village Scandinavia has signed an agreement with Skanska Sverige AB for the sale of development rights for The Loop project. The sale covers a 4,200 m2 plot with development rights for 13,000 m2. The plot is ideally located in Science Village, adjacent to Rydbergs Torg and the tram stop for ESS and Science Village.

Skanska has been developing The Loop since 2015 and the project has now advanced to the stage where both parties are ready to sign an agreement on land acquisition.

“We are delighted with the manner in which Skanska has taken on the development of The Loop,” says Ulrika Lindmark, Chief Executive of Science Village Scandinavia AB. “Skanska has committed large resources and shown a great deal of engagement, not only in creating a building and a workplace, but also in shaping a meeting place that will continue to bubble with activity outside working hours. We are confident that The Loop will enrich Science Village.”

The Loop is the second sale of development rights at Science Village. The first was the Space project, sold to property developers Wihlborgs in 2016.

“We have been through a drawn-out planning process due to the ongoing official examination of ESS,” says Ulrika Lindmark.   “We now have good reason to believe that the first detailed development plan for Science Village will enter into force in the second half of 2018, meaning that both Space and The Loop will be able to begin construction shortly thereafter.”
