Colin Carlile now at Science Village Scandinavia
Colin Carlile, who has lived in Lund for the past 7 years, has just stepped down as the Director General of the European Spallation Source (ESS), following the delivery of all documentation to the 17 partner countries necessary to enable them to move on to the construction phase.
– I am delighted to be joining the small (but growing!) team at SVS as Special Advisor to BG Svensson, the CEO. Science Village is so important as the glue that will bind the two big facilities together and it will give significantly added value to the research centres themselves. The two facilities, ESS and the MAX IV-Laboratory, are world-class and Science Village Scandinavia must be no less.
Colin was previously the Director of the prestigious international neutron centre the Institut Laue-Langevin in Grenoble for the five years before he came to Sweden. Before that he was in the management team of the ISIS spallation neutron source near Oxford looking after instrumentation and user support. Colin and his wife will continue to live in Lund.
